View Full Version : Brakes
Who has what?
What would you have next?
These things scare me - I want good brakes for a change! I can't push that final "nth" because I don't trust the brakes and its getting annoying now
erm, if set up right, standard brakes are fine mate or they shud be! mine are spot on.....well mite need bleeding cuz are a little spongy......but its less than standard, i got 5 turbo carriers and discs up front so in theory aint as good as valver brakes n they are spot on as it is!
altho wilwoods wudnt go a miss.........
WIllwodd 4 pots.
I didn't want to see them when I sold mine.
Best brakes i've had are std discs with pagid fast road pads
Will be getting wilwood midilite 4 pots - dynalites aren't dust sealed
Something else i've remembered to ask - can you get uprated pads that don't chucj as much shit out? does my head in!

Go for a good grooved disc liek the Tarox G88 or Black diamond. Hoping to get some feedback from the new mintex extreme pads weve supplied so watch this space.
I'm trying the brembo max discs this time, pretty much same price as std ones from GSF

I've go the brembo max discs and Pagid Blues and they give me lots of confidence 8)
IMO blues are overkill, never managed to get teh fast road ones to fade
brembo max discs with ferrodo ds2500 pads work VERY well.
worth flushing the brake fluid and completey changing for fresh.
just 1/2 way thru fittin new discs/pads to mine.
brem tech discs all round with ferodo ds pads up front....not sure what model tbh..but theyr red lol.....and lucas rear pads.
mine have usually been spot on , only fading after serious abuse, but after a couple advisories at mot time..i figured it was time i renewed lol.
would like 4 pots...but cant justify thye cost of em at the mo tbh.
My brakes on my valver used to be ok,
But when i did the front end renewal, i put on some good condition front calipers, Goodridge hoses, Castrol Super dot 4 fluid, and some pagid fast road pads on the standard discs.
And it stops very well. Naples can vouch for that
Worryingly they have a better bite than the Wilwoods i have on my wiliams, but i think a bleed would sort that.
So if you want to do it cheap. get some reconditioned front calipers from Gsf some fast road pads and goodridge hoses from Gsf and some decent fluid, and that should sort the setup nicely.
If you have abit to spend then some willwoods. but i havnt given them much play to see what there really like.
