hard to say, if you dont let people see it you risk them not joining as they cant see if it's in their interest... but, registration is free and it stops people registering to abuse someone on a thread they dont agree with.

I reckon make people register, it's free and quick to do. If people cant be bothered to spend 5 mins registering then they aren't going to be the types to contribute anything to the discussion or forum anyway. IMO of course.

As previously said by Jesus, but I'll always go with the majority, it really all depends on what the forum is going to be about! now and again it's funny to get the odd wierdo wanting to taunt and have a laugh, I hope however that the aim is to attract less users with more quality imput than sheer volume of users, the 16v and hybrid section is probably where the largest potential growth is considering the limited numbers of Willy owners in the UK, does anyone have any idea of what number of users we would like?

i would be happy with 1k or 500 users! must admit at the mo we have a hardcore group of 20 regular daily posters! so if we could get a regular group of 100 posteres then i would be happy!

Yea, that's the question isn't it?

My opinion is keep it this way..

It can be annoying, but registering isn't that hard.. and you can get info like how many people are interested etc..

A few forums I go on, you have to register to see.. annoyed me at first, but there are advantages.
