only just noticed that thread on CS and the reaction by certain people... it's a car FFS, would it be a crime if people sat in it and god forbid someone drove it? or course not, that's what the seats, steering wheel and engine are for

it's great if you like to collect cars to put in shrink wrap... but not a suped up hatch, which at the end of the day is all it is, and the value will NEVER be anything substantial, otherwise it would be worth at LEAST it's original list price by now imo. I understand it, but it just seems dumb to me... buy a car that's expensive, yet worthless in the scheme of things... not only that but it's effectively an ornament as the person probably has no intention of using it... pointless car regardless of miles if its never to be driven... imo it's worth more to a driver if it was in as good condition as that 'should' be, but with a nice freshly rebuilt engine ready to run in and use... not seize on it's first spirited drive in 10 years and go bang lol

it would be funny if the owner turned up and tracked it... the reaction alone would be worth a 1000 times the entrance fee

I don't think it's worth the list price at the moment, but in 10 or 15 years time when most Williams are extinct it will be worth a fortune if it's kept in the concours condition it's in.

The owner of the bodyshop that just sorted my williams has got a willy 2 with 30k on it. It lives in a garage and is never driven. A real shame if you ask me. Driving them is what its all about.

Indeed i say drive em, drive em hard 8)

but i do think the Williams 0001 is a bit special and should be in a museum.

I cant really see the point in having it on the Cliosport Stand at FCS....Williams Clio perhaps or Retro Renault.

Should be at somewhere decent though, Goodwood for example.

i think its a shame its on the CS stand....CS is all about 172s , 182s and lexus lights....

it should be on the WC stand!

i recon you should contact the owner northy and get him 2 change his mind :P

i think its in the best place - getting shown off to the public.

It would of been nice if renault had a dedicated show stand at FCS with all the 0001's ones on. V6, Trophy etc

hopefully they'll do that next year - I know FCS have managed to blag the 197 for the show!
