dont panik im not going all CS on ya :)
the paint on my car needs summat doing to it even after a wash it looks sad n dull
my mate lent me an electric buffer thing and some T cut but give me warning its easy to feek up my paint and another mate said itll mess up any plastic it touches
so yester day i drove to a valet place and asked how much to T cut it for me he said they dont Tcut cars they buff it instead he recons they will get it looking nice £65 including full valet (is that decent price)
but im unsure if buffing will be as good / last as long as Tcut would ?

also is it real dodgy using cheap electric buffer n Tcut and doing it my self would i need to mask up the plastic bits
or shut up and pay £65

thanks
dave

Take it to a bodyshop and get them to buff it, they use a cutting compound, not dis similar to t-cut, and then polish

yup
we use that to shine the car up and cut the top layer of paint off the new sprayed cars

not cheap tho

Isn;t it the other way round, G3 is alot more abrasive than T-cut, t-cut is very mild, can get other comounds, like G16, and G8 (IIRC) that are more and less abrasive

after a spray job u get minor dust particals and overspray
the g3 eats thru this leaving a gleaming shine after it

Yes i know that, hence it being coaser than t-cut

if you live anywhere near cambridge i could PC your car for you. would basically bring back the shine and take out most of the swirl marks, fine scratches aswell. really brings the paint work back to life.

whats the best way to remove deep scratches....deep as in i can just get my nail into and its gone through the paint to the plastic/metal below.

only way to get rid of them is a respray or touch up stick depending how big. deep scratches like that wont polish out without removing too much paint

for ones gone to the metal u cant 'buff' it out

u will need either a touch up pen if it is small or the panal resprayed

If you're talking about your Williams, then it's lacquered. T-Cut bottle says not to use it on lacquered paint. You can buy T-Cut metalic. But it's useless IMO.

I don't like those electric buffers I tried one and all it did was **** things up severely.

Superb piece of kit, combined with say poorboys ssr 2.5, a good polish, sealer then hand apply wax on top, nattys blue or simialr for 449 or 432.

u'll never get the same results by hand as what you do by pc. think the results in that picture speak for themselves really

Pc=porter cable 7424 dual action polisher, mine cost $265 from the states, you need a 110v tranformer though coz the polisher is american and no there isnt an equivalent than can be bought in this country yet.
