Sorry to bore u guys with the fiesta talk!

But i need ur opinions on this!!!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4636601273&fromMakeTrack=true

Thing that worries me is... they have no reserve....! And doesnt give reason for selling!

Does anyone know what the T3 conversion is?! i'm useless with technical stuff!

Cheers guys! :D

Jamie.
03-05-2006, 11:16
your going to pay over a grand for 8 months insurance? hairy muff

Clio b
03-05-2006, 11:28
well it'll be £140 a month....

if i wait until january to get one then i've been quoted around £900!

but i want one... some people pay more than that for their valvers/ williams! so its the price i gotta pay for avin a turbo!

03-05-2006, 11:36
didnt think they where that much quicker than a 16v Clio... or am i wrong

Anyway, personally wouldnt own an old ford let alone with a turbo.

You can always here fezzas coming by the noise of their tappets

Clio b

they are pretty much same performance as a valver.... but i dont want a valver!

I jus wondered what peoples thoughts were on the auction.....

If its a proper T3 conversion with the boost wound up a bit it should be a fairly quick. Much better lookin than that other one aswell.

If you get it buy a front mounted intercooler for it and you should be able to run 15psi or more of boost through it.

i really want a standard engine! nothing which has been played with....

i done a data check on it... it does seem to be legit!

This is the data held by the DVLA about the vehicle registration entered:

VRM H204DKK
MANUFACTURER FORD
MODEL FIESTA RS TURBO
BODY TYPE 3 Door Hatchback
COLOUR WHITE
FUEL TYPE Petrol
ENGINE SIZE 1596 CC
DATE REGISTERED 30/10/90
FORMer KEEPERS 8

I think its a Garrett T2 turbo standard so that has got a bigger T3 on. Will be a bit more laggy but should be fast once going.

see i dont know anything technical!

think it may be worth a look tho..... it looks pretty clean!

clowo16v

It does look sweet id try and go and look at it before you buy check the rear arches, sills, A pillars inside the car, under the carpets, front wings and edges of bonnet for rust. Tap your knuckles round the petrol filler cap it the sound is dead it might have filler in it.

With a T3 conversion the ECU should have been remapped if its just chipped it won't be running to its full potential.

like you said, it does look very clean, i have had one of these and a few XR2i and they rust around the petrol filler cap like mad.

it seems genuine, just ask the seller some questions, like reason for selling, any serivice history and does it tap on start up!

they are nice cars, but dont compare to valvers in looks or standard performance.

Personally I'd avoid buying old high mileage performance cars off ebay, think you're looking at trouble there. Especially the ones who are 'selling on behalf of a friend'. Up to you tho!

03-05-2006, 18:36
i would avoid it myself but only cause of bein through it all before, numerous times.if its really what you want,go for it,but get the best you can and check for rott as this shape fiesta was bad for it,but even so you will be doomed lol

Clio b

just saw this on another forum could come in handy for u

Had to move an engine last night, wasn't going to use my car and a mates car didn't have any insurance.

http://www.dayinsure.com/

2.5 litre V6 omega, Fully insured for £10.50 Very Happy Very Happy

Took about 4mins to insure it online, even printed out your own cover note Laughing Laughing

Fully legal, you can use the site to insure a car up to a month.

Even better was, Group 1-17 is £10, group 18, 19 and 20 is £20.

So if you happen to know someone with a rather expensive sports car you can take it for a blast (legally)

This site is perfect if you need to move a car thats been off the road, or if you happen to have a track day weapon and only use it a few times a year.

Only stipulations were that you can't have more than 8 points and been banned more than twice (or something very similar)

Dunno what forum this is best off in, but might be useful as a sticky somewhere? :)

Clio b
