some of you may remember i posted a thread in technical faq about my engine dieing

well i got a new engine, whilst the old engine was out my mate ripped the head off to inspect the damage.

Snapped Piston, ans blew a hole through the block!!

Was the piston that broke newish as well? Seems dodgy if you wernt killing it at the time. Or was you doing 65mph in 2nd :wink:

That should NOT happen... Even if it ran out of water and seized.... some monkey's been in there fiddling.... i've never seen a piston break in half :shock:

Who did the re-build.... Warrenty claim i recon. that HAS to be a faulty piston......

Have to see what BenR and Stan say...they'll no more than most :wink:

i'm not too sure what was been replaced in the past, i was killing it about 20 minutes before hand, racing a punto gt turbo :roll:

but it happened all of a sudden!

car is sorted now, with new engine and anything, just waiting on renault with a new oil sender then everything will be working perfect.

and yes i'm keeping it now, i can't believe i was even considering getting rid!!!
