Snapped my locking wheel nut key a few weeks ago...only just round to using the replacement one that the garage got...and it's the wrong fooking one! Whats the best way of removing the nut....Lunner suggested hammering a socket over the nut....and WilliamsJR suggested a hammer and chisel. Anybody had this problem too....if so, how did u remove it? Cheers...Matt
Can'tr see what a chisel will do lolo other than **** your old man's chisel
You can buy removal socket things from halfrauds

Would I still be able to use one of those if the locking nut is round like this?

I hate locking nuts!!!.....Chewed through my second set yesterday..... :x ....need to order a new key!!!....Then there off for good.
ive always just twated a smaller nut over the locking wheel nut and got it off like that.

hmmm maybe if u can get one small enough, you might not get enough purchase to undo it tho :(
i'm in the same pickle at the mo, gonna get a garage to do it i think as those removers are £20 anyway

Thats what I thought :( Can't really drive mine at the moment cos I've just changed one side of pads and the disks...so my braking would be all over the shop!

The removers are not small enough for those type of nuts.
I've just had to remove 2 from my old RSi, one came off by hammering a 17mm socket over it; it took about 30mis to get the nut out of the socket after though
The 17mm socket didn't get enough purchase on the second nut so slipped off, i then had to use a 16mm socket and hammer it on. It worked but i wrecked the socket!!
So it is possible....

cheers m8....I think i'll try the hammer and chisel method first...then i'll try hammering a socket onto it...just measured the nut up to a socket, and i'd say it gonna need a 21mm one. Were the nuts u removed round like my ones? Not bothered about getting the nut out of the socket again...more worried about getting the thing of the wheel
