red grease so as not to damage rubber boots.

use copper grease on the rest tho.

did mine last weekend. 3 out of 4 slides were siezed solid. freed them off and used a high boiling point grease. would also change the fluid too if possible. changed mine and the difference is outstanding. feel like the brakes finally match the handling

been to everywhere and no1 has any red grease

went to Renault and they have given me what looks like copper grease but its more goldy than normal, all the copper grease ive ever seen looks brown, the parts fella checked twice with the mechanics and they said thats what they use

the trade name is "red grease" or "rubber grease".

copper greasae isn;t any good for lubricatign anything, itsd an anit sieze compound, might as well use grit as a lube.

red/ruber or black cv grease is ok foer the sliders, don;t use copper as they will seize up in no time.

stan

yup as the H says, copper grease will go like a solid when the minimal ammount of pure grease is "used up"...leaving a solid deposit. good for anti-sieze on exhaust nuts...no good for a caliper!

well thats what Renault use lol

i had to use it as none of the shops i went to had anything but that and normal grease, normal grease is only rated up to about 120c which is nowhere near enough for brakes

Yes BUT.......

Renault at monkeys we all know this, just cus that one garage use copper grease doesn't make it right

Without meaning to be rude when was the last time your brakes got really hot, its not like you do trackdays all teh time. Hammerite isn'tr rated very high for heat, but it withstood my brakes after a whole day on track

BRUN

even with normal use brakes get way over 100c even if you drive like a granny

right, where are you looking for the red grease? halfords? motorspares world? cos they wont do it.

for all fluids/consumables go to a trade motorfactors. look in yellow pages "motor factors".

they supply parts/lubricants/fluids to trade e.g. garages, but u can go in and buy over the counter.

lol, its the same principal as those O rings Brun

stan

BRUN

PartCo in Wigan used to deal with Castrol but they dont anymore

ive ordered some of that Pagid grease now so ill use that, that should be spot on
