What tool should I use for undowing the torques screws that hold on my front discs? I've only got a screwdriver to undo them with and have nearly ****ed the heads on em! :( I've got one of the socket adapter torque things but not in the right size....should I get one of these in the correct size?

In a word yes

You can get a rail of them from halfrods for about £15

Also if the dis spins and theya re tight stick a screwdriver in the holes in the disc edge and use it to stop the disc agaisnt the caliper

T20 torq spit iirc. could be 15, although im pretty sure its 20. they can be a bitch to get out even with the right tool.

Tis a 30 m8....noticed that the disc spins...put some string throught one of the holes in the disc..and tied it too the suspension to stop it moving. Got a feeling I've probably rounded the screws off....would I have to drill them out? :(

TBH i've had a couple that have almost rounded off....just hammer a bigger torx bit inot them....failaing that grind the **** outa the head so you can get the disc off and then cut a slot accross it and undo it that way

Lol...i'll try and get the right size torque in a socket like above....if not I suppose i'll have to try what you've mentioned.

Is it best just to use a smaller drill bit and go all the way through the screw...or just drill the **** out of the head of it with a bigger one?

as gibbo said, loose the screws. no need for them at all. the wheel bolts hold the disc in place once the wheel is on. those screws only cease and round off.

i didnt realise you can do that?!

i had my front drivers side wheel off last night and both screws are ****ed, so much infact that i dont think they're holding it on at all. the disc wobles around so much, and im sure its only being held on but the caliper :?

the screws are just there to make fitting the wheel easier (so the disc doesn't spin when u try to fit the wheel an line up the holes).

give them a smack with a hammer in the center of the nut. don't go mad though. that usually loosens the threads off

summeh

failing all that just drill um out, start with 2mm bit dead centre and work your way up, once the bolt has gone and only thread left, you will be able to pull it out like a bit of wire. time consuming, but only option if all else fails.
