Starter Motor Failure?

Can the starter motor just pack up without any warning?
His is just clicking.

thats what happens give it a few bangs with a hammer itll start
im changing mine this week looks very fiddley
down pipe off + brackets

Starter is easy.....poutting it on it just came out with manifold/downpipe on.

Its attached to a bracket at the back, take this off while it up there, you need to remove starter motor and bracket and then remove starter motor from bracket while its there, much easier.

Should have time to swap it over for him if he wants while he is fannying about putting interior in

just hope my clutch cable doesnt break [-o< cos ill be stranded :shock:
