ph1 and ph2 differences

i want my ph1 to look a bit fresher and like the ph2s. can you tell me the differences.

grill
rear lights
trim - does ph2 trim fit on the ph1's?

is there any other differences?

you know the little plastic bits under the lights are they colour coded on the ph2's?

Yes Ph2 stuff will fit your Ph1 but the only thing off a Ph2 worthy of being fitted id the front grill.

The differences afaik:

Rear lights are more bubble shapped on a Ph2.
Boot lid trim has a carbon effect and badges are moved to the boot lid on a Ph2.
Ph2 has different wheels.
Ph2 has wider, more rounded bump strips.
Ph2 has the capacity badge in the bump strips as opossed to on the front arch.
Ph2 has a shorter ariel.
Ph2 has different (more rounded?) mirrors.
Ph2 has a different, more modern grill and the hockey sticks are colour coded.
Ph2 has the lock on the fuel cap indented too from what I've seen.

ph2 trim fits but you need the clips for ph2's iirc

interior is diffent, dials have white needles instead of red. sunroof is electric tilt and slide. ph2 has a short ariel. colour coded bits under headlights. :)

yeah the grill is much better looking i think.ive also boot strip and rear lights and alloys.

i cant decide on whether to get the trim or not. i didnt know the mirrors were different.

Yee, mine has an electric one too.

It's sealed up and the little nylon covers pulled over; I don't like to talk about it.

I don't want to open a new thread so I'll ask here...

Are Ph1 and ph2 bumpers identical (bump strips, etc)? Are door identical or are there any problems when fitting ph2 bump strips on ph1 door (apart from the fact I'm supposed to use ph2 clips)?

Anyone knows how to take bump strips off the door without breaking all the clips? Also how do I take off roof strips without breaking the clips and bending the strips?

bumpers are indentical, fog lights are different

side rub strips can be interchanged as you mention, just need to use correct strips

phase 2's have side impact bars as well, and airbag steering wheels

crash impact bars in the doors and improved soundproofing in the phase 2's over the phase 1 = more weight!

also rear wiper is different, a much thinner one on the phase 2's than on the phase 1.

and the washer jet is integral to the wiper on the rear on phase 2

lol the list goes on, if we want to get really technical, the fuel pump connector wiring from engine to main car loom is different, ECU immobiliser is different :lol: :D whole host of other random little changes, one touch drivers window switch, the front seat runner bolt holes have different spacing

Foglights are same fitmetnt on ph1 as on ph2 but different design, or completely different?

Any ideas how to remove strips that are on ym car now without breaking everything? :D

same fitment, different style

side strips on doors, theres a torx screw on inside back edge of the door that locks them in place. undo that then slide them off sideways

rears just slide off sideways 8)
