View Full Version : Newbie Hybrid Owner
Hello to all :D
I have just bought a '96 N 68k Rsi with a 16k F7R engine
It's a mish mash of Rsi, Valver and Williams stuff
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4624860651&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
It has the bubbly headlights if I wanted to change to the wider wings I would have to change most of the front end right????
Wings
Bonnet
Headlights
Bumper
Are the rear arches flared compared to the Rsi??
It seems quick enough just a bit fiddly in left handers
It has valver suspension but took a knock in a pot hole which bent a momo arrow
It was checked over by the guy who had it then but anything I can look for
Where is the colour code on them too?
It feels as if it leans a little too much in the corners
My first Renault but done Shitroen VTR, VTS & Peugeot 306 GTI
Although the 306 seemed a little limp in the corners after the legacy

i was watching that on ebay :) should be able to surprise a few people on the road with that, i don't think the rear arches are flared on it though, can't really tell at those angles but they don't seeem it, to get rid of the bubbly lights you'd need bonnet and wings aswell, bumper and grill aswell if you want to go all the way.
looks like a good little car tohugh for the money mate 8)
I knew him from ssc and would rather not sold it on ebay
I paid £1675 for it

Does feel quick though, although the mrs went past like I was stood still at about a ton when the Legacy came on boost lol
The clio is mine while she swans about in the Leggy once the sprog is born
T minus 9 weeks :? and i'm spendingmoney on a french toy lol
Yeah not bad considering he spent some cash on it and then sold it
Have receipt for a fair bit of stuff from Renault and a set of wheels amp, sub and Chameleon HU

Wings - you can use what you got, theyre a straight swap
Bonnet - see below
Headlights - only need to change the lights if you want a ph1/2 bonnet or a 16v bonnet
Bumper - will fit with ph1/2 stuf but doesnt look right
Are the rear arches flared compared to the Rsi?? - nope, only on a valver and williams they're flared
It seems quick enough just a bit fiddly in left handers
It has valver suspension but took a knock in a pot hole which bent a momo arrow
It was checked over by the guy who had it then but anything I can look for
Where is the colour code on them too? that will be on the plate above the driver side head light which i assume is in the same place on the ph3's ?
It feels as if it leans a little too much in the corners

welcome aswell :P

Really nice, looks well enough looked after.
Shame it s Ph3, IMO.
Thanks for the good welcome
Had some Frenchness with the car yesterday but it's sorted out now dodgy amp connection
Car is now lighter with sub and amp removed :)
Anyone any ideas on extra cooling the engine gets a little bit hot in traffic moves from half to just below 2/3 on the coolant gauge
Oil temp stays the same
I think it may be heak soak due to no vent in the bonnet?
Anyone any ideas apart from changing the bonnet?

16v's get like that in traffic unsur about williams', but once your moving its not a problem as it soon shoots back down. so long as it dont go to far above the 2/3 marker i wouldnt worry to much if it were me
