i know this must have been discussed on here a thousand times, but the search engine isnt great on here and lists anything with PAS in it.

basically i was wondering if anyone on here has a guide to flushing the PAS fluid, also how long to do it and what type of fluid does it take?

No. Get a garage to do it. Preferably Renault specialists. I've tried and made it worse on two occasions. It's a frickin nightmare to do.

ur kidding!
i thought it'd just be a case of a hose off, let it drain and refill with new fluid!

You have to get to the bottom hose which I believe is a twat to do. Only time mine's ever been right is when the specialist has done it.

comma atf fluid or comma psf fluid is what i utilised.. you can also use slick 50 psf which is meant to be shit hot.

i just undid the powersteering return hose that leads in to the reserviour. and coupled a longer pipe on which fed in to a bucket. i ran it untilthe system refused to spit any more fluid out... then reconnected reflled and bled the beast.

dont forget to plug the return socket on the reserviour.

there are easier methods than that.. i presume thats the cowbow way.. but it worked and was quick.

bleeding is easy.. fill reserviour with new fluid, the leave cap off.. turn steering slowly with engine on full left and right lock..do it many times until no more air bubbles appear in the fluid. monitor your fluid levels constantly.

i run a megane pspump and it is silent nd runs smoothly.

Sounds like an easier way than my lot dot it. They remove the hose from the pump itself and drain it that way.

Yep, as stated above the easy way is to disconnect the hoses going into the resevoir. If you are careful and use some hose clamps you take this out without spilling any fluid. Then connect the longer pipe.

The other way is to disconnect the flexy pipe where it meets the solid pipe under the inlet manifold just by the alternator and then drop it out down the bottom by the radiator.
