I have my first MOT on my hybrid in a month or so.

How do the MOT stations treat the emissions. As a 16v or Williams?

Is there a lot of difference?

Cheers

If its an electronic new style test, then they'll test it as a 16v unless you've told the DVLA about the conversion

So the emission levels are the same?

Haven't fully finished the car yet, so haven't told the DVLA yet. Only actually been on the road for a total of 3 weeks since December when the engine went in.

I've got the cat to put back on it.

Cheers

Ok, ive just done my MOT last week....

Mine is a hybrid, declared as a 1998cc.

They tried to put it thru the computer but it wouldnt come up. Kept coming up with williams, 172 or 182. Its none of them...

So they put it thru as a 16v'er...but had to manual test some things.

Mine is a 31st Jan '92 car, so no cat needed for me, so flew thru at just 1% C02, compared with the 3.5% limit.

For a cat test each car has a specific limit, usually around 0.35% C02! Id assume they would go with the williams limits on this as it would be higher than the 16v'er ones.

You will need to explain this situation to the garage. They wont care as long as you give them the correct info so they can complete the test on your car.
