Erm.... seriously. More than 3 billion people in the world drive like that - China, India, , Mid-East & South-East Asia, Africa, South America and Paris :)

At least they don't have to deal with traffic lights and filter lanes :x

I'm sure it's India where the 'If it's smaller than you, you have the right of way' rule is the only one they adhere to. Seems to be the case watching that 8)

You forgot those that live in Greece, and anyone in Rome.

I've driven in Rome and Paris and even they're not as bad as that. They have traffic lights for a start!

The dutch are trialling a no priority/lights approach to junctions. Peds/bikes.cars/lorrys all fend for themselves.

Apparently it actually works, and no one can work out how. London might be next to try it.

IMO, all the drivers in the vid were quite civilised and went about their business with some reasonable discipline.

Kuala Lumpur - now that's one city that will scare any foreign driver. Traffic light or no traffic light, get out of the way of any car. Can't argue about highway code when you are dead.

It probably works because drivers are actually concentrating very hard on not crashing, rather than day dreaming and letting the road network do the driving for them.

I've heard of a trial, in somewhere like Denmark, where they've taken away all road signs, warnings etc, and it was shown to work. Less things to distract the driver I guess.

people are in too much of a rush for it to work in this country.... and there is too much road rage.... people arent responsible enough to give way and let people go! there would be loads of crashes and no-one would know who was to blame!

You don't get "let" through though. Presumably you go when you see even a whiff of a gap. Force your way in.

Clio b
20-04-2006, 14:55
oh yeah cause there are loads of gaps in london rush hour traffic!
