Hi there,

Since I like to sniff around on websites about the Clio Williams, share
information with others and stuff, i thought it would be appropriate to
introduce myself here.

I am Patrick and i'm from Lisse in the Netherlands ( i hope i'm welcome here ;) ). It's close to
Amsterdam, ya'll must know that ;)
-----------------------------
Okay, about the car:

It's an 1995 Clio Williams with the Monaco Blue tint. I've read about your
information about Fase 1, 2 and 3, but my "fase 3" hasn't got all the
equipments that it should have for a UK fase 3.

I mean: no door speakers, no ABS and no electric sunroof.

Wenn I bought it was completely standard. And over the 2 years i own it,
i have changed a few things:

Devil spaghetti manifold, 4 to 2 to 1;
R-Tuner adjustable ECU, chipped and adjustable with a laptop;
An tube from the airbox to the bumper for fresh air;
Peco 76mm exhaust;
De-cat pipe;
Lowered: in front -3,5cm Merwede springs and in the rear some coilcovers from GAZ;
Dog bone from the clio cup cars.

Personal Nardi Swiss Champion steering wheel;
Blue interior mats with Williams decals;
Smoke caps for the flashing lights.

I haven't got much pictures since it is lowered
( that happened only 3 days ago )
Well this is it: ( only the last foto is up to date ;) )

Below you'll find a picture of the car at the previous owner and then some
pictures of how it is now:

Thanks, i bought it from a man that treated it well.
Unfortunately the cars now has a bit of rust on the rear shade and the rims need to be restored again.

I also have a pair of 16 inch Prima Racing Rims that are waiting to be painted in Williams-Gold.

is it a williams 1? :? the european ones always confuse me :oops: do ya have a plaque on the dash?

Zollo

The Euro Willies were all just called 'Williams', although they did have P1, 2 and 3. Seems even then, though, the specs are different from our phases.

So it's a Phase 3 Williams 1, basically!

:shock: um so there not numbered? :? thats weird , but i bet the numbered ones are strange to them :shock:

Zollo

Yeah, they were numbered. But I'm not sure up to what age/number. Just Phase 1 Willies I guess?

R-Tuner adjustable ECU, chipped and adjustable with a laptop;

Hi, what's your opinion on the R-tuner? I was thinking of replacing my Superchips with the R-tuner as it was running a bit too rich. Would you recommend it? Thanks.

Well, it is a good product. But you'll have to buy an Wideband Lambda to get the correct figures. A normal lambda give figures that aren't precise.
And you'll need a bit of knowlegde about ECU tuning.
I haven't got that knowlegde, so i'll leave it in standard mode, which is a bit faster than the original ECU, and i can set the rev limiter to 7500 rpm, but i won't go further than 7000.
And if you don't trust an garage, you can set it to 3000rpm ;)

I haven't got a wideband lambda since it is very expensive. Maybe i'll put the car on a dyno in the summer to tune it.

I don't have a plaque on the dash, only the phase 1. We don't really have fase 2 and 3, we've got phase 2 in Sports Blue and Monaco Blue.
I never heard about phase 3 untill i've read about it on UK forums.

This is the manifold, only have this picture:

Because these are 16inch instead of 15 8)
The originals will be for the winter.

This is how the rims are supposed to be when their refurbed in Gold:

damn thats nice on those 16's :)

nice motor :)

that devil looks much like the standard 4-1 manifold from the top. a lot of us on here have replaced our manifolds with a supersprint 4-2-1, the devil version doesn't seem to be available over here. what price did you pay for it?

basic
19-04-2006, 18:09
The supersprint manifold is also available here, but i've heard that the Devil creates more torque...
And i had the opportunity to buy a secondhand manifold for 250 euro's. A new one is about 450 euro's and a chrome one is 700 new.

Not on mine... I just bought them a couple of weeks ago and the are waiting to be refurbed.
There are 2 tires in a bad condition so i won't fit them under my clio to see how it looks.

It should look like this:
