AVOID!

It fecked mine for months and when the garage saw it and I told them I used it they blamed the Redex. They said that Redex is still virtually the same stuff it was years ago, and that it used to work great on carb'd cars.

However they say it knocks big chunks of shite out of your injection system and that with modern injectors it can lead to blockages. When I used mine it left it juddering on coastdown and hesitant on acceleration until I abosolutely caned it.

Took months to clear up. They said to use Wynns or Forte. I can' remenber which.

Used to use STP which worked fine, then Wynns and now Forte. Those 3 have never caused a problem.

Do a search for Forte stuff on ebay or ask Brun as think he has some. Much cheaper than the garages and usually a agrageonly product so full price for something you can put in yourself. Just don't go overboard with it. I use every 6k or so.

Just been looking on ebay at Forte products, I assume the fuel additive is the Advanced Formula Gas Treatment? Also noticed Advanced Formula Motor Flush, has anyone tried this or is best to avoid it?
Cheers

Try this: Change into fresh oil and rag the engine for a few days (when properly warmed). Then change new oil again. Flush completed.

Not as effective as commercial engine flushes, but also less chance of removing something you might need from inside the engine.
