My auxiliary belt was starting to squeek a little so I decided to tighten it up.

Moved the tensioner to take up the slack (moved it the wrong way first of all, doh!!!) and now it sounds like a bag of mice! :x

Is it possible to over tighten the belt and would this cause the squeeking?

Or have I not done it up tight enough?

On a more positive note, managed to change both the wishbones and track rod ends which has cured the terrible knocking noises that I was getting.

Cheers

No. :x

Really squeking bad. Sounds like the alternator though. Bit pissed off if it is, it's only 2 years old!!!

Going to do some messing about with it at the weekend and see how I get on.
