View Full Version : 1.4 Tuning
What kinda things can be interchanged with the 1.4 and say rsi or valver?
for example use the rsi inlet manifold and throttle body?
rsi head? cam? etc
injectors?
Exhaust Manifold?
Anything at all lol
Jus thinking of simple things to change over....can these be interchanged?
dont really want to go into the insurance bracket of an rsi or valver now ive got 9points :P

Not the Rsi engine. From the 1.8 SPI laguna engine. Don't know its code.
There have been plenty of threads on this. The idea is, unless you can get it done cheap by doing most of the work yourself or have money to burn, don't bother.
read ages ago that a TB off the 1.8 spi laguna can be used. didnt try it so wouldn't know tho.

Yeah it can. The inlet manifold throat needs boring out to make the most of it though.

hybrid for the future good idea 8) save pennys and do it properly
do you think you'll push it hard enough to warrent the wide track?
good luck finding a clio 1.8 spi they are rare are rocking horse shit.
Not alot of point wide tracking anything other than a valver because the rt rear beam has loads of flex in it compared to the valver/willy one and the handling won't be as good.
best thing to probably do is buy a williams and put everything in the RT or something....SLEEPA
Oh n yes i will push it hard enough to warrent the widetrack..... didnt have it on the hybrid tho but it was on coilovers and a valver to start wi..
get some serious track time in....1.4 lappin valvers.....
...........am turnin into lunner lol...my 1.4 will beat ur valver lol.
Think av got a spare valver engine knockin about actually...... :D

You'll get a 1.8 SPI TB off a laguna 1 too.
Aye, rear beam has a fair bit of flex but you'll get away with stiffer rear shocks (like valver efforts), a 16v rear beam or better still the torsion bars off a Renault extra van.
