Spring is out and the little bar/clip that seems to run along the bottom just won't move.

Haynes seems to say use pliers but the thing just won't budge. Is it supposed to slide or be pulled out?

Steering column was a sinch compared to these bloody rear calipers.

Have new calipers to fit but they don't come with carrier and the bottom carrier fixing bolt is obscured by this clip that won't budge.

Trying to do this whilst dodging showers.......

Yeah got it out. Only 1mm difference between old and new pads so may refit the old ones.

Rear brakes hoses were gonna be replaced for Goodridge ones but they look more corroded than the fronts were when I tried the same so may give that a miss.

Just soak in plenty of plus gas for the rear hoses, rears on mine came off 10 times easier then the fronts
