I live in a over 40C degree tarmac heat and would basically try anything to improve the clio's performance. Well, last night round about 11.50pm, I tried out something a bit unusual.
As some of you may know, the outside temperature sensor is linked to the ECU to tell it to switch mixture according to temperature. Hence, the drop in performance during summer heat. So, this is what I did, I simply taped an ice-cube to the sensor under the passenger wing mirror.
After about 11 minutes of fiddling with it, I test drove the car. And man! it blew me away! The throttle response was razor sharp and the torque was everywhere! I reckon my 0-60mph time must have dropped by over 1 second!!
You guys have to give this a try. Now, obviously, with the colder weather you guys would have to use more ice cubes. Maybe start with 1 cube, then 4 cubes and perhaps 06 cubes. Or even hang a whole bag of ice cubes under the mirror. I'll bet you will be surprised at the final outcome.
Cheers. 8)
