well peeps ive hit hard times again as ive been laid off so im considering my options! im a plumber by trade and loads of people have said just go on your own mate! yes i would like to but it doesnt guarantee work tho,,, you have to go out there and find it! but if it comes to it i may sell the willy and invest in a van(there is no way i can run a williams and a van at the same time) so i can get all my tools on board. but i may also use the willy as my van for a month so i can do little bits here and there for a mate of mine who runs his own company. i can fold the seats down and put seat covers and dust sheets over evereything in the car. ive given myself a month to find a job where i dont use my own transport and get a company van! so we will see! i dont want to sell her but needs must if it comes to it and it will break my heart to see her go........ :(

plumber is one of the best paid jobs if ur selfemployed so i hear, if i was u dude i would deffo go on ur own

it wont be hard to find work cuz loads of ppl want plumbers but there real expensive so just make ur prices that little bit cheaper than others until u build up a rep

The clio would be a fine plumber's van. Remove the rear seats and board up the floor with non-slip material. Put up a roof rack to carry the ladder and long pipe carrier. You can also paste up your company contact info on the inside of both rear windows. That would surely stand out at FCS. :D

Cheers up mate!

plumbers are like gold dust. if you put a decent small ad in the paper, and get some business cards printed, your laughing.

if you goto the benefits agency/citizens advice bureau, they may be able to point you in the direction of a small business grant/starter pack.

would be a mint to use the williams...

A bloke I know that used to race at York had a Volvo 240 with a 300+bhp Cossie motor in that he used as his works van. Fastest plasterer in the North lol.

See ya

What ever you do, DONT SELL!!!

You will either pass the interviews and then make loads of money, or strike out on your own (maybe with a little hardship at first) and then make even more money! You'll regret selling (now that you have all this money) and want another one. This is a couple of years on now, and you start hunting autotrader et all for another willy. You'll see a few, and realise all the good ones are gone or being cherished by their owners and all you'll have left are a few dodgy examples and you'll think "why an earth did I sell my baby??".

Anyway, good luck with the interviews!

Congratulations on the new job would be a terribale shame to have to sell the car.

You should try going off doing some private weekend work though build up a business so if you ever get unemployed again you can work for yourself full time.
